"Paper and pen at the range? Unnecessary. Gun Log lets you store all your firearm data…", American Warrior, issue Number 5.

Gun Log tracks firearms, ammunition, configurations, failures, rounds fired, costs, accessories, etc., and even can calculate a ballistics drop table.

The app does not collect, mine, harvest or do anything with your data. Firearm information is just as sensitive as your social security number or credit card information.

The app has a passcode. It is activated by using the iOS Settings App.

Gun Log will never allow email to access the data, use printing, or use cloud storage, just as promised. Many users are careful about where their private data is stored and Gun Log was made for those. It was promised that those features would never be added and that is the way it will be. Please be aware of this policy, it has always been this way.

Units are only in U.S. yards and inches. There is no metric or other measurement system support.

Before you buy please go to the Developer Website and read about the App. The link is listed in the App Store. This app is not a simple list but instead an app that logs range results, ammo usage, firearms, ballistic drop tables, and has reports that allow you to analyze your shooting, firearms and ammunition, and improve your ability and to know what ammunition is reliable and accurate. You do not have to use all of the functionality, but it is there when you need it. Don’t let the low price fool you, this is a very complete range log and inventory app!

Pros and cons of Gun Log app for iPhone and iPad

Gun Log app good for

This app made me stop and think about what I have on hand and what I need it allows me to track better all of that a great app
I get a lot of usage out of this app. It very much appeals to my sense of record keeping. Im glad I dont have a large collection or Id be draining my phone battery with all the data entry. Nice layout, hits all the high points. I could wish for a report that might just show totals of money spent for the guns themselves and then accessories. Then again, maybe I wouldnt want to know how much Ive been spending. Also, I reload ammo. Id like a way to keep track of that data as well. Anyway, great app! Thank you very much!
The latest update did not load correctly and now the ICON shows "waiting" even though it has been 2 days since it was updated.
I have only just begun to use the app but so far so good. It is both simple but thorough.

Some bad moments

This app covers a lot of areas youd want to keep track of. A totally awesome app and well worth it!
Another good update! It would be nice to add the ability to record a cold bore shot.
Possibly my favorite app on my phone! Works great, and theres so much I can do with it Im still learning how to use all of its features! Only problems Ive had so far that springs to mind is that when I jump to another app to convert metric or look something up about my ammo, the app returns to the guns screen (mild inconvenience at best). The only other problem Ive had is that I cant input the correct bore twist for my mosin nagant because there is no decimal button when inputing said numbers. If I so may, Id like to throw a few suggestions out there to make this app even better! Temperature/windage/altitude inputs for ballistic drop tables would be nice, and a way to calculate spin drift. The ability to switch between metric and standard would also be nice for people like me who run mostly warsaw pact weapons. Being able to input bore grooves and right hand or left hand twist into the configurations page would be sweet too. Thanks for the read and I hope everyone loves this app as much as I do!
Good start but like any database there are always tweaks to make. For example, allowing more than 1 photo per listing would be nice. We love our guns, you know. Also the NOTE field is about 3 lines without having to scroll. Give us at least 1 decent-sized field or the ability to create our own. The App is good, please make it better.
Every Gal should get this app! I know more girls have iPads than the guys and with this app we can show we shoot better too.
I was kind of skeptical of this app esspecially one that cost just a buck. I read all the reviews before I bought the app and thought it couldnt be that great. Well I bought it checked it out and I love it. This app does everything I was looking for catalogs all my weapons and ammo, keeps track of all my range stats for the weapon and ammo including FOE. Plus its does the math for the drop on my ammo and weapons so I dont have to. Truly and great deal. Its definitely Marine APPROVED!!
